Spring 2022 Art Lessons (course runs Jan 24th-Apr 29th, 2022)
For Grades K-12
Lessons with Artland incorporates various mediums and techniques into a fun flexible curriculum geared for the youngest students with small hands and curious minds, to the more inquisitive youth looking to polish their art skills. Art lessons are divided into 5 different sections based on grade level of the student. The nature and complexity of the project increases with each section. Brief introductions to noted artists are explored alongside each art project. Students will complete 7-8 art projects during this 12 week course. All classes are taught by Leslie Anne Martin, who has 3+ years experience teaching upper and lower level art courses at The University of New Mexico and Oklahoma State University, as well as experience teaching OSU's Summer Art Academy, an art's based summer camp for ages 13-18. Leslie's teaching techniques involve teamwork and learning through exploring. She has a conceptual and nature-based approach and believes in the importance of a well-rounded arts curriculum.
